Both young women and men will have the opportunity to receive professional strength and conditioning training utilizing weights, plyometric, agility drills, and TRX straps for core training. Everyone involved will work out safely and be supervised at all times. In addition, participants will learn about nutrition and the importance of effective diet in developing speed and strength.
Facility
Youth will receive instruction in a dedicated room for cardio (treadmill, rowing, and elliptical), strength (free, machine, and Olympic weights), core (TRX suspension training, kettle bells, and balance work on bosu balls), and plyometric training (jump boxes, resistance, and cone, hurdles, and ladder work for footwork).
Youth will also have access to performance photography –
a system of photography that film youth in their sport or venue and
provide instant feedback in a frame-by-frame format for analysis and
feedback. This system allows the athlete to compare their technique to
“before” and “after” shots to show their progress.
Schedule
The program will consist of a fall semester and a spring semester with a duration of 14 weeks each. Throughout the semesters, we will hold sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday nights (usually 6:30-8:30). Youth will have the opportunity one night a week to study the Bible during the first hour and receive professional training in the second hour.
